Questisms.....

Hey there my peeps!!!!  This ^ is me and some of my artwork!!  Mommy was so very impressed that the only place I got the sharpie was on myself!!!  

New word of the day "Questisms" definition: a word used to describe the things that Quest (that would be me) do that are cute, unique, hilarious, genius.... :)  Okay, well maybe not genius, but that is what my mommy and daddy think, and well, they're mommy and daddy, they have to be right.... right??? ;)  Mommies and Daddies know everything!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

So here are some of my recent "Questisms"

 I don't know if you have seen the show "Word World" or not, but it is one of my favorites.... they have a catchy little tune that I sing often.... well thanks to Word World and my sharp memory, I got myself out of some trouble with mommy.... K, here's the story.... Mommy and Daddy have been re-doing their bedroom with lots of cute pictures and decorations, well mommy had this cute little sign that said "laugh", so I picked it up off of her dresser to check it out a little bit closer.  Then somehow, it accidentally broke!  I brought it out to mommy and said "oh no mommy, I'm sorry, I broke it".  I saw her face was less than happy about it, so me and my quick thinking (thanks again Word World) started singing that little jingle.... "it's time to build a word, lets build it, lets build it now!!!!"  Mommy just started laughing!!!!  Phew!!!!!!!  Dodged that time out!!!! :)

 These are just a few of my girls.... my sissy Mariah, Cydnee, and Savannah.  They all love and adore me... wanna know why??? I never miss an opportunity to touch their hair and tell them how beautiful it is or compliment them on their eyes or clothes or smile.... I think I may have even taught my brother Michael a thing or two.... :)

Mommy cleaned the house, and then walked out of the room..... hee hee hee hee..... not so sure she was laughing but I was pretty proud!!!












Here are a few Questisms that the girls enjoyed...

•   Michael got a new dragon fish (it's pretty ugly) and when he was cleaning out the fish tank he looked in the bowl that the fish was in and said "oh me, oh my, that's a big BIG fishy"

• Sami was here with her sister, Deni and Deni was getting ready to leave.... he grabbed her by the arm and said "no, it's mine!!!!"  He really didn't want her to leave.
• One day he came in from the garage and was chewing on something, and saying "yummy mommy, this is good" and I asked him what he was eating and he said "Dog Food!!!!!!!!"  ewwwwwwwww gross!!!!!!!!!
• The other evening Mariah was sitting on the computer listening to Margot and the Nuclear So and So's, and Quest fell asleep listening to it with her... but not before asking for a pillow and a blanket...

Summer so far...

So far my summer has been GREAT!!!!  We've all had a lot of fun....  I have officially become a fish this summer!!!  I can swim (with my life vest, that I call my turtle) all over the pool!!!  Mommy, Daddy or sissy don't even have to hold me!!!  

If it were up to me, I would be at the pool every minute that it is open, but mommy gets to worn out trying to keep up with me all the time..... geesh, that really is no fun, and I am not always very happy when we leave the pool.... but if I cry when we leave, mommy doesn't let me come back the next day.... :(

 Here are some pictures of my favorite part of the summer so far!!!!  My gramma, poppa and Karina came to visit me all the way from California!!!  We had so much fun while they were here!!!  We did lots of fun things, we went to the Science Spectrum, (remember, that is my favorite place to go and see my dinosaur friend the T-Rex) and we went to the mall, we ate lots and lots of yummy food (boy does my gramma sure love ice cream!) and we played and we played and we played!!! 

Karina is my favorite play mate in the world!!  I love when she comes to see me! We played so much that when she left, I think I may have slept for three days!   Mommy and Daddy said we are going to get to go and see them sometime in the fall, and maybe even get to go to Disneyland!!!! 

My Latest Explorations

Hi again!  It's been awhile!!  And boy have I been busy!!!:)

I'm very excited that summer is almost here, and we can go to the pool!  I love to go swimmin'!!

Well, we got a new puppy, her name is GiGi.  She's super cute and I love her so much!!! We play together for hours, mommy and daddy, and sissy say they feel a little sorry for her because I'm to rough with her.  I don't understand that at all!!  We just like to play together, we especially like to play hide and seek!!! 

Two days ago, I found the best hiding spot for her ever!!!  In a cabinet in the kitchen, on the bottom shelf, there is this big hole, daddy says it is a return air vent.  It goes down under the floor!!!  It's the best hiding spot in the house!!!!  So, I put her in it!!!  Mommy and Daddy weren't all that into my game, Daddy even spanked me.  But it was just a harmless game of hide and seek.... Cydnee must have seen me do it, because I heard her ask my mommy and daddy where the dog was and then she told on me and told them that I had the cabinet open.  I guess they won the game of hide and seek, because they found GiGi!

Have I introduced you to my Maw Maw yet???  Last week she was in the hospital, and she was there for ten days!  My mommy and I went there every day to see her, and we stayed until I told mommy that I needed to go take my nappy.  But because she is my favorite person in the world to share breakfast with, I wanted to show you some pictures of us together, when she was in the hospital...

Angels

I truly believe that our children can see and talk to and feel their guardian angels.  My mom and I have thought this with nearly 400 foster children and infants that we have had in our home over the years.  In our home we have had drug and alcohol addicted, babies with birth defects, babies that were shaken to the point of brain damage.  And we have always said there is a reason you don't remember anything before you were two or three, and we believe that is because at that point of innocence you can still see your angel(s), but can't tell anyone about them yet!

There is a "Quest" reason for me saying all of this!! :)  If I ever doubted the theory of this before, I really don't anymore...

Last week, Quest slept unusually late for him, and when I finally heard him making some noise, I went into his room and asked him if he was going to get up today.  He said "no mommy, not now, I want to go back to sleepin and see the angels."

A few days later, I asked him again about the angels, and he said, the angels are there when I sleep.

Two days ago, he was taking a tubby and I was cleaning the bathroom.  He was just playing with his toys in the tub, and said out of the blue "i'm going to be a wise man"..........

Okay, seriously to my two year old, I have never talked about angels, or wise men....  

My Dinosaurs

Peek-a-boo!!!! Hi there, I'm over here, watching my dinosaurs!!! These ones here are my friends from Dinosaur Train! I don't know if I have told you before, but I LOVE dinosaurs!!! I can tell you a lot about them! I have a lot of dinosaurs too, some T-Rex's, stegasauraus, spinosauraus, iguanadon, teranadon, pachycephalasaurus, brachaesauraus, and lots lots more!
My dinosaurs are my best friends, we do everything together! They help me eat, they take tubbies with me,
they even watch over me when I sleep!!!
When I've been an especially good boy, my mommy and daddy take me to the Science Spectrum Center to visit my favorite, big, ginanormous T-Rex!!!!!
Sometimes, Daddy will even hold me up so I can get a closer look!!!
I just had to write a little blog about my dinosaurs, since they are such an important part of my life!! All of the big kids around here say that I am smarter than them!! That makes me laugh, cause we all know that teenagers have lost half of their brains!!! :) Of course I'm smarter!

These dinosaurs over to the left are some of my newest ones that mommy let me add to my collection! But I don't know why mommy and daddy and poppa laughed soooo hard, when I took the volcanoes and held them up to my chest and said "look, I have big, big boobies"!!!!!!!! That's what they looked like to me!!! ;)

French Fries

French fries are my favorite food!  I love them so much they are yummy to my tummy!  Everytime I eat them I sing "there's a party in my tummy, so yummy, so yummy"!!!! I really would like it if mommy would let me eat them for breakfast, lunch, dinner and every snack in between, but she said I have to eat other things that are healthy for me too.  But sense we don't always have french fries at home I had a brilliant idea today!!  Mom must have thought it was a great idea, because she smiled real big and then got right on the phone with Chris Dovin to tell her what a great idea I had!!! 

I decided to make a french fry tree!!!  As soon as this thing grows, I'll have a huge french fry party!!!  French fries for EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!

Hakuna Matata

Today Quest had an especially fun day!!  First he was trying out his new potty chair and singing all about poop.  "I poo poo on the potty" and on and on and on... so I said hey Quest, we probably don't need to sing about poop, why don't we sing a happy song?  Let's sing Hakuna Matata, so I began singing it to him.  Then he started singing with me, here's his version "Hakuna Matata, and I poop on the potta".............  oh my goodness, I think my sides hurt.

After that we were getting ready for our day and trying to get sissy (Mariah) up for school.  Her bedroom is in the basement, and when she is down there you can hear her from an air conditioning vent near the floor.  So I called her to see if she was up and what she was doing and Quest got on his hands and knees and said "Sissy, where are you????  Are you in the floor?"

04/01/2011  We had some fried fish and french fries for dinner, I asked Quest if he was going to eat his fish, and he looked down and said "little fishy's wake up!!!"

    
Drove through the car wash and opened the window to hand the guy my car wash card, I hear Quest from the back seat say "hey, I want a Diet Coke"


He picked up a leaf that was in the entry way, and said "hey mom look, it's a tree feather".


The other day he had grabbed the plunger out of the bathroom, and when he wasn't looking daddy grabbed it from him  and put it back in the bathroom and he said "I need it the plunger, Daddy"......  how in the world does he know what a  plunger is???  I don't think they have a Nick Jr show that specializes in teaching "the word of the day is plunger"...

 One of Quests favorite shows is "Little Bill",  well, we went through the drivethru at McDonalds one day, and my precious little man see's the cashier, who is black... all of a sudden I hear this cute little voice in the backseat say  "Bill, Bill!!! Hi Bill!!!"  I looked at Justin and he looked at me, he immediately put the newspaper in front of his face to hide the laughter and the tears that were running down his cheeks......

You have to understand that this truly is the most perfect baby, ever.... He goes to bed everynight between 6:30-8:00, wakes up everymorning around 7ish, but stays in his room until he hears his Poppa come through the door between 7:45-8.  He gets up in the morning, "pushes the button" (turns on a movie), and either lays back down or plays with toys... He can open his door, and he usually does, but we have a gate up at the door so that he doesn't get out and go wandering when we're asleep.... well the other morning, he opened his bedroom door and said "Mom, Dad, I waked up,  and I need coffee"........... 
hee hee hee hee....  Wonder what the first thing we do every morning is???

Yesterday I was picking him up to take him for a nap, when he let his body go like a limp noodle.  I told him not to do    that because it hurts mommy's back.  He sat straight up, and put one hand on my chest and one on my back and began    rubbing me.  He said "I'm sorry mommy, there it's all better now, alllllllll better...." :)

One day he was in his playpen, and he was eating a Nutri Grain Bar, and he choked a little bit, before I could even make    it into the living room I hear "I'm okay, Tracy"....

And so it begins.....

My name is Tracy, and I am the mommy of this most precocious two year old, Quest.  A friend of mine has been urging me for at least six months to begin a "Quest Blog".  I have been told by many people that Quests antics are something that should be shared with the world, because they make you smile, laugh and sometimes even cry!  So, here I am!!!  I don't know about sharing with the world, but at least a few of you in my inner circle, that truly would enjoy hearing all of his cute stories!!!

I guess I will start by telling y'all a little bit about Quests family... Like I said, I am Tracy and the mommy, the daddy is Justin, Quest has a brother Michael who is 18, and a "sissy" Mariah, who is 15, he also has a great grandma that we live with and take care of, we call her Maw Maw, and she is 89.  He has a Mama T and a Poppa who live less than a mile away, many other relatives that live here in Lubbock, and my precious family that live tooo toooo far away in California, we call them Gramma and Poppa.  Gramma and Poppa have adopted a beautiful girl, who I guess technically is Quests Aunt, but since she is 5 years old, she really is more of a sister to him!  Other names that you will hear mentioned are great friends, Chris Dovin, Doug, Grandpa (daddy's grandpa), Cydnee (Mariahs unofficial adopted sister), Holly (Michael's girlfriend).... oh can't think of any others at the moment, but those are most of the active players in our lives!!!!!! :)

Well, I guess that is all for now! :) From now on most of these posts will be from Quests perspective.... let's see how this thing goes!!!! :)
